Federal law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address, employer and occupation for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 per election cycle. Individuals can contribute up to $2,400 for the primary election and $2,400 for the general election for a total of $4,800. Political contributions are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Corporate contributions are prohibited.
