About Lou

Lou Huddleston was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the son of an Army paratrooper.

Growing up in a military family was not a life of privilege, but through it all Lou learned the values of discipline, responsibility, commitment, and sacrifice from his family and his church.

Lou Huddleston's values would help him graduate from Morgan State University with a BA in Political Science and an MA in Public Administration from the University of Missouri, marry and start a family, be a commissioned officer in the US Army, and faithfully serve our country in uniform for 31 years.

In June of 2003 after returning from service in Afghanistan, Lou retired from active duty as a full colonel and entered the private sector where he has served in corporate executive leadership roles for both large and small businesses.

He also has served on the boards of directors for the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, North Carolina Southeastern Economic Development Commission, Urban Ministry, and Habitat for Humanity.

Lou and his wife of 38 years, Frieda, are the proud parents of two children and one grandchild. The Huddlestons attend Evans Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Fayetteville.
